05 Dec MinTIC Colombia selected as a Finalist in WfMC Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow
The AuraPortal Process Automation Project implemented by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology Colombia to combat mobile device theft has been selected as a finalist for the WfMC Global Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow 2016.
These prestigious Global Awards for Excellence in BPM & Workflow recognize user organizations that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative business process solutions to meet strategic business objectives. Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and BPM.com jointly sponsor the annual Global Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow. The Awards program is managed by Future Strategies Inc.
The automation of the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) verification and consultation module, which is considered very complex, was implemented on the intelligent software in record time and complies with the government mandate Decree 2025 of 2015.
This was achieved thanks to the user-friendly platform’s use of BPMN modeling as a basis for the simple and practical comprehension and gathering of information. The ease of integration with the Ministry of ICT’s functional team greatly expedited the implementation.
This process has a high degree of interoperability with various external entities involved in the process, which are easily integrated with AuraPortal using different web services.
The highly automated process has reduced management costs by 90% and is now offered free of charge for the mobile devices importers. In addition, it has expedited response times from approximately 15 days to just 2 hours.
