SODEXO, world leader in Daily Life Quality Solutions, implements with AuraPortal BPMS an Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to the OHSAS 18001 standard

This solution, implemented by Auren, has allowed SODEXO to simplify, organize and improve the management of activities related to Risk Prevention in more than 300 work centers, with a small group of Prevention Technicians.

Project Background and References

SODEXO, as part of its innovative philosophy and its commitment to people´s health and welfare, required a solution that could manage and optimize its processes related to Occupational Risk Prevention (PLR). The high number of work centers managed by the prevention technicians, as well as their heterogeneity, made them very difficult and expensive to manage.

SODEXO decided to entrust AUREN with the project, a multidisciplinary consultancy firm, specialized in Occupational Risk Prevention as well as System Information and Normalization Technologies.

AUREN offered SODEXO a Solution of a Web Portal Integrated Management System that consists of launching the vertical solution of ORP management processes, developed on AuraPortal BPMS and complemented by the Regulations Maintenance and Legal Requirements service related to Prevention.

The Result

AuraPortal BPMS provides the necessary platform for this management, from which the customized legal evaluation forms are automatically created for each work center, based on certain, previously defined, criteria. As far as Accident Investigations are concerned, the platform permits SODEXO to extract indicators of the accidents taking place, allowing the analysis and decision making in order to minimize the number of accidents, improve the working atmosphere and automate the report of accidents to labor authorities.

This system has also been complemented by its integration with the HR corporate system, in such way that the maintenance of employees and work centers is now carried out only by the corporate system and only once, thanks to ENTALPIA, a system developed by AUREN that allows linking AuraPortal to any other corporate application.

As a final result, SODEXO now has an integrated management platform in Occupational Risk Prevention, where people and processes interact in a coordinated manner, thanks to the technology applied by AUREN on the BPM Suite of AuraPortal, allowing to:

• Develop an efficient policy of occupational health and risk prevention in the company that offers substantial improvements in the employees´ appeal, retention and loyalty, as well as a drop in absenteeism from work and savings in indirect costs, insurances, etc.
• Comply with current labor legislations, basically the Occupational Risk Prevention law, the derived rules and related regulations, and avoid the risk of disciplinary measures for failure to comply with the law.
• Adapt to regulations/certifications (UNE 81.900 ex, BS 8800, OHSAS 18001…) on general rules for the implementation of Occupational Risk Prevention management systems, with the resulting improvement of the company´s image and guarantee towards third parties, represented by a competitive advantage.
