BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT SUITE
 

The complete BPM system cycle covers four stages:
  Modelling, Execution, Monitoring and Optimization.

 

1. Modeling
Analyzes the Processes and Business Rules and uses Modeling to graphically express the Process structure and flow diagram. This graphic presentation is called Class of Process Modeling.

AuraPortal BPMS has adopted for the modeling of their Classes of Process the International Standard, BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) by OMG. This notation can be 'mapped' to BPEL4WS (Business Process Execution Language for Web Sevices), also called BPEL, which is the XML standard language for executing processes. This possibility to convert to BPEL is interesting as it maintains the standards and is available to the users, but is not used here as the AuraPortal BPMS Process execution mechanisms are much more powerful and go much further than BPEL.
 

 

2. Execution
The orchestrator (device in charge of the start and orchestration of all the Processes) regulates the start and finish of the Processes that function concurrently, controlling each one, by its own Engine. The Engines take into account the Business Rules that have been defined in the company and activate the users Workflows so that each one receives the order to make the tasks that he is responsible for, in the right place and time and with the format and forms ready for use to facilitate the work.

AuraPortal BPMS includes an exclusive and innovative program called
Generatrix, that is in charge of generating automatically from the Model, Process control engines without the need of programing. This outstanding feature clearly distinguishes and constitutes an important attraction of the product.

Moreover, there are other very interesting functions such as the integration of the rest of the Process workflows with other free workflow platforms that allow for a task assignee to be added as one goes along, from different linked tasks that, without affecting the principal Process development, add functions and flexibility that allow the treatment of subjects related to blocks, conflicts, consults, etc. not contemplated in the original Process development. This resolves extensively any of the commented BPM problems: excessive inflexibility. In some cases, due to unforeseen situations or difficult Model plasmation, the Processes require more flexibility than can be offered by the original. Here AuraPortal BPM brings a radical, innovative and definitive solution.

With respect to the Activities that comprise a Process, as a sample the following differing aspects of AuraPortal BPM can be mentioned.

  1. Allows the entry of specific information by way of Forms that are designed by the company without having to program. This information enters during the Process to its appropriate place and is available for consults, to be integrated in the execution of other Processes and as a route for audits.
     

  2. Offers great flexibility to define and adapt the Profiles or Roles to the User Groups, allowing a very filtered access to the different parts of the Processes through the Request Gestor.
     

  3. An exclusive management system of Business Rules is available, directed towards a perfect integration with the Processes without losing independence.
     

  4. Three kinds of users: Employee Users, External Users and Guest Users.
     

  5. Allows the temporary workflow diversion towards other employees to obtain information or request actions by means of creating, as it goes along, free workflow Tasks as mentioned above. This is very useful when applied in the Processes in certain Business Rules that because of their complexity or their subjective component automatic application turns out to be impossible.
     

  6. Warnings can be made that arrive automatically and always to the appropriate people (depending on the type of warning) when an emergency or unexpected problem occurs.  AuraPortal BPM Suite.   7. Controls the times, both by dates and duration, establishing limits if so wished and assuring that the appropriate employees receive alerts and alarms when these limits are about to be exceeded or have been exceeded. The date and time control combines simultaneously 3 scales: GMT (UTC) time, the system server time and local time in the user terminal. This way, even though the process involves users simultaneously situated in different parts of the world with different time zones, the control is always correct and uniform.
     

  8. Receives and generates Messages for communicating outside via Exchange and Outlook electronic mail.
     

  9. It is possible to associate Procceses with Projects so as to exert a structured control and management of Costs and Revenues associated with the 3 levels: Projects, Processes and Activities.

3. Monitoring
This is in charge of registering and showing to the Process responsibles and the company management the real situations (times, delays or advancements, diversions over patterns, costs, etc.) of all the Processes whilst they are being executed, without waiting for the subsequent audit. For this, information compiled by the Processes Control Points is used. This information is transferred to the Dashboard that can carry out the monitoring or BAM (Business Activity Monitoring), and can also link with BI (Business Intelligence) systems.
 

4. Optimization
Seeing the results registered in the Monitoring allows to envisage the necessary changes in the Processes to improve them.
